Celebrated worldwide for her precious gems- and metals-encrusted paintings, New York City-based fine artist Fareen Butt has made a name for herself, having created and exhibited commissioned works internationally for prominent collections and with museums garnering an interest in her works.  Her clientele include an impressive list of prominent individuals including the Grimaldi family, Saudi royalty, the Abu Dhabi royal family’s hotel investment, as well as her work being featured aboard Roman Abramovich’s former superyacht recently sold to David Geffen.  She has presented her works at prestigious events.  Almost twelve years ago, Fareen began studying, experimenting and using minerals for their physical characteristics and unique abilities.  Her works contain precious materials including pure gold and silver, sapphire, ruby, magenta, diamonds, onyx, witherite and minerals derived from meteors.  Paintings – depending on the materials used and size – can run for USD $40,000 to $50,000 for a 5ft X 6ft piece while the larger ones measuring 7ft by 10ft can shoot for more than USD $100,000.  Private and corporate commissions, exhibits and key events featuring her work have taken her across the globe to cities including Monaco, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Palm Beach, Berlin, New York, Miami, London, and Venice.  Slated for 2013 and 2014 are initiatives in Dubai, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Jakarta, London, Bogota, Rio, Monaco, Macau, Astana, Tashkent, Istanbul, New York, St Petersburg, and Moscow.
